Astrology Compatibility

Since the Rabbit and the Rooster are opposites on the Chinese Horoscope, they will have to work very hard to create a fulfilling relationship which can be sustained. As lovers the Rooster's need for control and penchant for nagging may well chase the Rabbit away. Their overall compatibility rating is 20%.

More abt Rabbit

Sociable, Discreet, Refined, Shrewd, Perceptive, Sensitive, Aloof. Meticulous, Efficient, Orderly, Conscientious, Intelligent, Honourable, Notoriously Candid.

While they may not like it, the Rabbit is a timid, attractive being who is usually non-confrontational. Rabbits are very popular with friends and family. They are inherently compassionate and protective of those they care about. Rabbits idealize their relationships and may give far more of themselves than is healthy. Fortunately the Rabbit surrounds itself with friends and family who will help it regain its balance when thrown off emotionally.

Rabbits are a bit fragile and need a solid social foundation in order to thrive. Without a strong family and close friends the Rabbit will not stand up well to adversity. Rabbits are so sensitive to their feelings that any emotional upset may make them physically sick. Rabbits can be pessimistic if they feel as though their lives are at a stand-still. By nature they are insecure about their place in the world. Rabbits move through life at their own pace. They are both contemplative and often procrastinators.

Rabbits love the home life. Within a strong family environment the Rabbit may find the security it needs to blossom and become more self-assertive.

Interesting article on Men and Women

Saw this on Straits Time today.
http://www.wow-her.com/

The joy of sex talk - Remember that old saw 'Men give love to get sex, women give sex to get love?' Well, it's here to stay By Chua Mui Hoong

As you read this on a Sunday morning, chances are you've come across conversations like these in your life, or been told of such exchanges:

She: You don't love me anymore. We never talk.
He: You talk all the time. We never have sex. You don't love me anymore.
She: I'm not in the mood for sex when I feel you don't love me.
He: I want to have sex with you all the time, isn't that proof that I love you?
She: See! You can only think about sex. You don't love me as a person anymore.
He wants sex to feel loved, she needs to feel loved to feel like having sex.

We say such differences spring from the gender gap. Men are from Mars, women from Venus. In the eternal conundrum that is the dance between male and female, there are many theories as to why the sexes differ in modes of communication, in the way they love and in their approach to sexual bonding.

Is it social conditioning? Evolutionary biology - where evolutionary pressures conspire to shape the behaviour of men and women over the centuries? Or are such differences hard-wired into the brain? I did my usual 'research' on topics like these: I read perfunctorily. I talk to friends. I consult myself.

A fascinating book, The Female Brain, by neuropsychiatrist Louann Brizendine, sums up recent research on this topic. According to her, brains of men and women are hard-wired differently and respond differently to hormonal and chemical changes, and these differences affect the way the sexes respond. When it comes to sex, the area in male brains devoted to sex is three times as large as a woman's. Enough said.
Studies of the prairie vole, small furry animals said to belong to the 3 per cent of species of mammals which are monogamous in habit (the percentage apparently includes humans), help shed light on the brain chemistry in love.

Prairie voles get into a frenzy of non-stop mating for 24 hours when they meet - and then bond for life, nesting together and raising their young together.

Scientists say mating releases two key hormones influencing social behaviour - oxytocin and vasopressin. Oxytocin is well-known among readers of women's magazines as the 'bonding' hormone. When under stress, women gather in groups and talk things out. When I go through an emotional upheaval, I call close friends for breakfast, dinner or supper, and inflict the hows, tos and wherefores of my situation on sympathetic ears. (I do the same for my friends.) Never mind that all that talking doesn't solve anything. The bonding releases oxytocin and makes us feel better able to cope.

Men don't have that kind of patience. A friend went to meet a childhood buddy who had just gone through a divorce. He told the grieving husband: 'I give you 15 minutes to moan. After that, get on with your life.' Then they went on to talk about school days and guy stuff. Apparently it's considered acceptable to make your friend condense his misery into 15 minutes flat. And then expect lifestyle changes to be made, problems solved. 'Otherwise, don't call me next time.'

When my former schoolmate wanted to talk about her boyfriend problems, we met for lunch, stayed for tea, then had dinner. We were together for eight hours. We had a great time and left cheerful, rejuvenated - and no nearer a solution. Oxytocin makes women feel bonded, secure, loved, making them more inclined to feel sexual. In other words, they are in the mood when they feel loved.

Men's social attachment however is influenced by vasopressin, a hormone that boosts a man's energy, attention and aggression. Sex releases vast amounts of vasopressin in males, triggering pleasure centres in the brain, and strengthening attachment to the female engaged in the activity. In other words, sex makes him feel more loving. Thus the dictum about a woman needing to feel loved before she wants sex, and a man needing sex to feel and express love may be grounded in brain chemistry, fuelled by the different actions of brain chemicals.

Studies of prairie voles show that sex releases oxytocin and vasopressins in males. Oxytocin makes him recognise and feel bonded to one particular female (and not just any female he has sex with). Knock off that gene and the creature forgets not only who its partner is, but also who its friends are. Oxytocin and vasopressin both activate the pleasure chemical dopamine, which sets off a positive feedback loop - whereby more coupling with one particular partner releases more of the hormones which activate the brain's pleasure centre - bonding the pair strongly for life.

Scientist speculate that a similar biochemistry loop of love takes place in humans. In fact, some scientists think there is a 'monogamy gene' for men. Prairie voles which are monogamous, have a tiny piece of DNA other varieties of voles lack. When the montane vole - a different species of voles with multiple partners - is injected with this missing gene, it suddenly turns into a devoted partner, and spends more time frolicking with its offspring. Such genetically modified voles are less inclined to run off with a younger female.

Might the same be true of human males? Could the propensity for monogamy be - at least in part - genetically determined? If so, women might want to ask for a DNA test for their men to ascertain if they have enough of the requisite vasopressin gene. With bewildering theories on gender gaps, what's a man and woman to do, in the daily communication battlezone?

In the interest of preserving gender harmony, let's just consider the important facts: Men's sex centres are three times the size of women's. When men have sex, they feel bonded and relaxed - the way women do when they talk to their friends.
Why, women should just see sex with their husbands as similar to a good heart-to-heart talk with their girlfriends: As a (male) form of communication.

She: I'm really tired. I need a cuddle and a heart-to-heart talk to de-stress.
He: Sure, let's cuddle and talk my way. Then we'll talk your way.

Love - A market analysis

A funny article I found by ST writer : Chua Mui Hoong. Sunday Times. 16 Nov 2008
Five kinds of Men that women in their 30s can go for :
- Father of young kids
- Younger men seeking financial security
- Older Divorcees
- Married man
- Single man
Interesting perspectives which I never consider before.

Love: A market analysis - I've crunched the numbers and figured out how women in their 30s can still sell themselves in the marriage market. By Chua Mui Hoong

Single women seeking partners would benefit from a hard-headed analysis of where their best prospects lie. A marketing perspective is helpful: What is the market potential of women in their 30s? What is their value proposition? Which group of potential 'buyers' might they appeal to? I did my usual 'research' for an article like this on matters of the heart: I talked to my friends and consulted myself.

Here is my take on the market segments of men who may find women in their 30s most appealing:

Fathers of young kids: Divorced or widowed men with young children want a mother for their children. Women in their 20s are deemed too young. Thirty-somethings are perfect: experienced enough in life and mature enough to take on the responsibilities of stepping in as an instant mother, yet young and energetic enough to romp around and enjoy young children. Those in their mid- to late-30s may be giving up the idea of having their own children, yet welcome the chance for motherhood.

Pros: Likely to want a long-term relationship.
Cons: High expectations and intense job pressure.

Younger men seeking financial security: Professional women in their 30s are likely to have their own home and car and a steady income, and still look and act like they are in their swinging 20s. This may appeal to men looking for creature comforts or a woman to take care of them.

Pros: Energetic partner to have fun with.
Cons: Relationship may be transactional, with partner seeking new love gravy-train when you get older.

Older divorcees seeking fresh lease of life: Many divorced men in their 40s to 60s with teenage or grown-up children in the custody of their ex-wives are looking for a new love. They will find 30-somethings appealing. Dating a 20-something smacks too much of cradle-snatching. Dating women in their 40s or 50s provide uncomfortable reminders of their real vintage. An attractive, nubile woman in her 30s is young enough to be viewed as a trophy partner, yet is mature enough to be viewed by his friends as a respectably aged partner.

Pros: No pressure to start a family, for women content to be childless.
Cons: Divorcees usually have outstanding financial commitments to their ex-spouses and children.

Married men: Morality aside, the fact is that some women in their 30s end up having relationships with married men. Some women target this group, either because they can't find single men, or because they want a relationship they need not be committed to, or for perverse reasons such as to test if they can lure a man away from his wife.

Pros: Suitable for commitment-phobic women. Can be financially rewarding with a wealthy partner.
Cons: You never come first. Guilt-inducing for breaking up families.

Single men: At risk of attracting hate mail from single men, let me say aloud what women whisper to each other: Men who are never married and still single in their late 30s or 40s are either: gay, very choosy, have been hurt and are risk-averse, mummy's boys or socially dysfunctional. (No, this doesn't apply to single women.) Dating them will be challenging.

Pros: A partner who knows what he wants and has waited all his life for it - you.
Cons: Adapting to married life may be challenging for this partner.

Conclusion: There is considerable potential for women in their 30s to appeal to different market segments of men.

Smart women can review the options, figure out which category or categories they want to market themselves to and devise a plan to go for it. Good luck and happy dating.

Relationship - Abt feeling good

Summary on how to make a girl tick while maintaining our self respect...
The more u try to make someone love u, the less they will. We love the things that make us happy and the ones that we attribute the most value to. In order for someone to love, we must make them happy and be valuable to them.

  • Feel good abt ourselves. If we make someone feel good by degrading ourselves socially, then that person will not respect u.
  • Dont be a clingy guy. Only pay compliments occasionally.
  • Enjoy life, be happy and it shall be contagious. In order to make her feel good, she must be happy ard u.
  • If she's putting herself down, talk her up. If putting herself up.. tease her.
  • Overcome the part that u dont like abt yourself. Practise and live this.
  • Dont brag bcos it puts u in a position of trying to impress someone.
  • In the end, u really cant force someone to like u but it can affect what kind of person u r. At least be a good catch instead of a loser.
  • Concentrate on being happy and valuable, the rest will come naturally.

NYT Interesting article

One of the articles on NY Times abt searching for the other half. Totally hilarious. Got the article last yr 2007.

What am I doing wrong? Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all.

Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to Central Park West. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am,nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level?

Here are my questions specifically:

  • Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms.
  • What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings.
  • Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)?
  • Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the Upper East Side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there?
  • Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE.

ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it.I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth.

The First Response

Dear Pers-431649184:

I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament: Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill;that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it.
Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful!

So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!

So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage.

Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout.

By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump." I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

Second Response: Bachelor #2

Dear Pers-431649184:

I also came across your posting with great interest. I am a 28 year old Wall Street trader who qualifies as an eligible suitor under your $500k/yr rule. In fact, I make over a million and can usher a woman into a comfortable, true middle class lifestyle (not like those 500k lower-middle class chumps who have to make do with the junior two-bedroom).

I am sympathetic to your goal in finding a rich man to marry. The milk needs to be sold by the expiration date. But since this is premium milk, why would you settle for less than premium prices? I would like to address some of the questions that were previously missed by the other gentleman and provide constructive advice on where to find your match.

I also do believe in the efficient market theory, and am surprised that $500k hasn't found you yet. There are plenty of rich lawyers, investment bankers and hedgies to go around in this city. What gives? I think the problem might be that you have not been sufficiently focused in your search efforts.

The culprit, I believe, may be that you are also looking for qualities aside from money - such as looks, personality, and a sense of humor. However, men who have those qualities learn at an early age that they do not need money to attract quality women. As the saying goes, if you can get the milk for free, why pay up for the cow?

What you need to look for is someone who is long money, and short the other aspects. They are not easy to spot, since you are biologically wired to overlook and ignore them. However, the next time that you are at a expensive black tie event, and you are introduced to the short, bald, overweight man who fidgets nervously whilst making conversation with you, pay special attention to him.

Here's an inspirational story for you. An acquaintance of mine who was also an classy and articulate woman as yourself was able to land that guy - who also happens to be one of the top ten guys at Google. This is the type of stuff that gold-digging moms read to their gold-digging daughters at bedtime. Perhaps you need to make a location change to Silicon Valley - miracles like these happen almost everyday in a land where you can randomly throw a rock and hit a rich nerd squarely in his Kim-jong Il glasses.

And as far as his deficiencies go, they turned out to be not so bad. With hundreds of millions in the bank, she's been able to clean him up and give him a little sophistication. Think of it as a fixer-upper project with a massive budget (and yourself as a visionary real estate developer!). Although, I must warn you, it is a fine line you are flirting with - you must not overdo it lest he begins to attract younger women who are hotter than yourself. The trick is, you need build him up enough to be presentable, while simultaneously manipulate him into believing you are the best that he will ever do! That and having kids will be your insurance against your depreciation (or as I prefer to use the term, milk going sour).

I wish the best of luck on your sales project. As for me, I am also available for a short-term lease. However, for marriage I wouldn't consider a woman unless she can bring beauty, brains and self-motivation to the table. I do not want to dilute my gene pool and end up raising a bunch of Paris Hiltons.

The Ten Commandments of Natural PU

Interesting article I found - It is not sufficient to be a man. You must become an "idea". Women are attracted to ideas, not men. ...

  1. Connect. Genuine connection with another person should serve as the basis of your game. It doesn't matter how good your techniques are if you can't achieve a genuine connection.
  2. Positive. Always work to increase the positivity of interactions, and strive to improve the emotions of the people around you. Trying to hurt people only destroys your own value.
  3. Now. The immediate moment, the "now" is always more important than any previous moment. Never allow yourself to get stuck in previous moments during the pickup, regardless of what happened.
  4. Idea. It is not sufficient to be a man. You must become an "idea". Women are attracted to ideas, not men. Once you determine what YOU stand for, your "idea", make EVERY SINGLE element of your game congruent to that. Everything you do, say, how you dress, your mannerisms, your techniques should serve to reinforce that "idea". Any deviation from your "idea" is a leak in your game that needs to be fixed. This accounts for why some techniques work for some people and not others.
  5. Reveal. When using techniques and routines, you must communicate yourself through the techniques, not hide behind them. Many men got into the game because they had a fear of letting women see the real them. Routines and techniques have become a very convenient veil that they could hide behind. Don't let this happen.
  6. Value. Demonstrations of value should flow naturally from the reality of your life. Value is built, not fabricated.
  7. Vibe. Value is largely perceived as a vibe which is sensed on a subconscious level. How long does it take you to figure out if you like a person or not? 1 minute? 30 seconds? Some of my most memorable relationships came from 1-3 minute number closes.
  8. Focus. The nature of your thoughts is the first determinant of your outcome. Your mental "focus" always takes precedence over structure. Never sacrifice your focus in order to follow a generic linear path.
  9. Spontaneous. Life is unpredictable. Contingencies always come up. Since women will pay attention to your reactions in all kinds of different situations, your game is only as good as your spontaneous conversation and behaviors.
  10. Time. Time is irrelevant to pickup. If you spent 30 minutes with a woman, but the last 5 were boring, you would have been better off venuechanging / getting a number at the 25 minute mark. If you have a problem with flaking, you don't need to spend more time, you need to improve your vibe.

Summary: Use your time wisely. Be positive, spontaneous, focussed, in the "now"; connect, vibe, reveal your real value, and become an idea in her mind.
